Hello Fellow 1968 SHS Classmates,
 
  It's a new Century and a new Millennia and 2008, time to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of our graduation from Southfield High School. If this message has found you, we hope that you are in good health and good spirit.
 
  We hope you can join us to celebrate our 40th.  The plans are as follows:  The reunion is scheduled for Columbus Day weekend, October 10-12.  Everyone is invited to Doc's Sports Retreat 7:00pm, Friday to commemorate the grassers of our high school days,  Saturday night is a dinner party at 6:30 at St. Mary's Cultural Center.    There will be music and dancing for those of us still up to it - we're not getting older, we're getting better.    On Sunday, we will have a farewell (for now) brunch at a place to be determined.  All these events are located in lovely Livonia and maps are available on the web site: http://www.shs68.info  The cost of attending the reunion dinner party, which includes bar, is $65 per person. 
  
  OUR PLANNING TIME IS SHORT, and we need your help.   First, we need at least 100 people (Classmates, spouses, guests, etc) to commit to attending the Reunion and to send in their payment no later than Monday, March 31, 2008. We anticipate more than 225 people attending the Reunion, but we need at least 100 commitments by March 31 to confirm our dinner and room block reservations.   Any payments sent in will be refunded in full if the reunion does not go forth as planned. The Reunion Committee wants to ensure that our Reunion will be put together in a fiscally responsible manner. So,  please RSVP now.
 
  We are still looking for "missing classmates" and will send you a list of them. If you are still in touch with anyone who is on our missing list, please send us as much contact information as possible (name, including maiden name; address, city, state, zip, email address and telephone number).  In addition to having emailed notices to the 230 of you on our e-mail list, we have mailed postcards to 401 Classmates for whom we only have an address.   Any people you can put us in contact with will help.   We have a good six months to find missing classmates, and with the search tools that are now available on the internet, we hope to find most of them.
 
  Finally, as a courtesy, we ask that you please respond to this email and let us know whether or not you want to attend. If you do not want to attend we respect your decision, and we will mark our records as such.  If you do want to attend, please reply to this e-mail with your "YES - I CAN'T WAIT!" along with your current contact information. Right after you do that.........write a check to either Chris Ripplinger or Dorothy (Beth Thomas) MacFarlane and mail it along with your name and address to:
